15 Days Kenya Wildlife & Beach Safari

Elephants-Masaai-Mara-sunsetThis 15 days Kenya Wildlife & Beach Safari is designed for wildlife enthusiasts. The safari starts with exploring a bit of Nairobi – the city in the sun. Nairobi is in many ways a wildlife city with a national park and several animal sanctuaries.  The Maasai Mara is a huge expanse of breathtaking endless plains and abundant wildlife, you will spend some days exploring this. The tour will continue to Amboseli national park which offers great game viewing and the best views of the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro, world’s tallest free-standing mountain. Continue the safari to Tsavo East which forms the largest protected area in Kenya and home to most of the larger mammals and vast herds of dust –red elephant. End the trip in Diani on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya, a gorgeous setting for a beach vacation with a backdrop of forests.

Day 1: Arrival to Nairobi

Arrive in Kenya for the safari to explore the beautiful country. A representative of Kagera Safaris will be waiting at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Discover Nairobi

Nairobi provides some of the best activities for a day visit. From wildlife sanctuaries to museums or craft markets to cultural experiences. It is not possible to engage in all these activities, a few will be chosen today.

Start with a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum which is a set at the foot of the Ngong hills to learn about her works and time when she lived in Kenya. Then the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to watch a baby elephant play in the mud and feed. After this, proceed to the Giraffe centre for an experience feeding the giraffe up close and or even a giraffe kiss. The centre serves as a refuge for the endangered Rothchild’s giraffe. The tour will end with a visit to a craft centre where women make beautiful crafts and ceramic work.

Day 3: Transfer to Maasai Mara

Depart Nairobi this morning and drive (or flight) to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge, have lunch and brief rest. Later you will take your first thrilling evening game drive in the Maasai Mara game reserve, one of East Africa top safari destinations.

Drive time – 5 hours OR  Schedule flight time –  45 minutes

Day 4 & 5: Game drives in Maasai Mara

Spend mornings and evenings for game viewing in Kenya’s finest wildlife park. The game drives take us in search of Africa’s big five and other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On one of the days you have an opportunity to visit a Maasai village to learn.

Day 6: Transfer to Amboseli National park

Take a flight from Maasai Mara to Nairobi where you will be transferred by road to Amboseli. After short rest embark on an evening tour of the park.

Day 7: Game drive in Amboseli

Spend the day exploring the park with all the opportunities there is. This park is known for its large elephant herds and views of the beautiful Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania. Depending on the season of the travel, you can visit lake Amboseli which might have water.

Day 8: Transfer to Tsavo national park

After breakfast drive to Tsavo National park which is renowned for its large numbers of elephants, the famous legendary man eating lions and other physical attractions like the Aruba dam. You will also have a chance to see the red elephants and many types of flora and fauna.

Day 9: Game drive

Today your tour guide will pick you up early to start the day on a game drive in this semi-arid area which will bring you close to wildlife in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax in the afternoon or return for an evening game drive before nightfall.

Day 10: Transfer to Diani Beach

Depart the lodge for Diani with lunch en route, arrive in the afternoon and check in at the lodge where you will spend rest of the afternoon at leisure in the resort with an option of engaging in water sports at your own cost.

Drive time – 7 hours  OR Schedule Flight – 1 hour

Day 11 – 14 Diani Beach

The rest of the days will be spent at leisure in the lodge with an option of engaging in water sports at your own cost. Diani beach has been voted many times as one of the best beaches in Africa. With flawless long stretch of white sand hugged by lush forest and kissed by surf able waves which makes Diani beach very popular.

Day 15: Transfer to Nairobi for Departure Flight

This marks the end of your safari, check out of the lodge and transfer to Ukunda airport for your local flight to Nairobi.
