Passionate & Knowledgeable Guides

We know that guides are a big part of your experience. Our guides are passionate about their work and invest in growing their knowledge of the destinations. Our naturalist guides are members of the different guides associations in their respective countries. We offer specialized birding safaris and ornithology trips. On request, we provide language guides for Spanish, French, and German.

Comfortable Safari Vehicles

Kagera Safaris uses safari vehicles that are serviced regularly to ensure clients’ comfort and safety with minimum risk of breakdown. We run our safaris in 4×4 land cruiser vehicles with pop-up roofs for 360 degrees viewing. We ensure that everyone has a window seat for wildlife viewing and photography.

You will have exclusive access to the vehicle for the entire period of your safari unless otherwise stated.

Flying Safaris

Kagera Safaris organizes flying safaris to all the destinations we offer, sometimes scheduled flights or charter. There is also an option of helicopters for areas without airstrips. This can be in combination with road travel where part of the journey is taken on the road. The client sometimes chooses to fly between destinations that take more than five hours of driving. Whatever your reason for flying, we do arrange for a beautiful experience in the bush planes across our destinations.

Remarkable Lodges

Kagera Safaris partners with amazing luxury safari lodges and tented camps built mostly with local materials and décor. These are often set in prime locations as close to the wilderness as possible giving one a true wilderness experience. The rooms are often secluded each with enough living space and a pool in certain instances to plunge in after your time in the wild. The lodges have trained staff and are intimately involved in their local communities by employing locals and running projects.

Responsible Tourism

We are passionate about linking tourism to rural community development. This ensures communities living adjacent to the park and those along the ‘tourism route’ get actively engaged in the conservation of wildlife and the environment. We encourage our clients to visit communities for activities and ‘homestays’. We give part of our profits to community projects.

We have gone plastic bottle-free, we provide water bottles.
