Your first stop will be rafting River Nile before continuing to hike Mt Elgon. Mt Elgon is one of the oldest volcanic mountains in Africa. It is surrounded by forests, inhabited by mammals and birds. It offers beautiful views, numerous caves cascading waterfalls that enchant you as you enjoy a climb up to the Wagagai peak and the Caldera. The main peaks form the shattered wall of a collapsed central caldera at 8 km in diameter is said to be the world’s largest which contains glacial lakes and hot springs. Relish the scenery of the Karimajong Plains in a distance.

Day 1: Arrival to Uganda
You will be welcomed by a pleasant Kagera safaris representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for overnight.
Day 2: Water rafting in Uganda
We will leave Kampala early morning for Jinja to spend the day water rafting on river Nile. After breakfast, you will transfer to the briefing place before you start your day on River Nile. You will go white water rafting on the longest river in the world for a fulfilling adventure. The white water rafting goes through some of the best grade five rapids with spectacular leaps and drops; enjoy the scenery of forested islands, the roar of various waterfalls and fisher men as they go about their business. You have opportunity to swim whenever you reach the spots where the water is placid before you start the rapids again. This is an adventure in the pearl of Africa on the worlds longest river.
These are possible if you choose to take half day water rafting. Some of the activities you can do while in Jinja are bungee jumping, squad biking, horseback safari, kayaking, jet boating and walk in the nearby communities
Day 3: Hike up the Sipi falls on Mt Elgon
We depart Jinja and drive to the eastern part of Uganda. We will go through Mbale, a town at the foot of Mount Elgon. We proceed to Kapchorwa with beautiful view points on our way to Sipi Village, nestled between mountains and waterfalls.
We will start our hike to one of the three water falls that make up sipi falls. Eventually we get to enjoy the views to all the three water falls. Enjoy the hike that goes through the villages homesteads and crop farms of the people here. You will notice that the food grown here is all organic and fresh for consumption. Remember to carry your camera to record these amazing sights in eastern Uganda.
Day 4: Hike to Piswa Camp
After breakfast we will transfer you to Kapkwata at 2190 meters, from where you will start your hike. It is a scenic route running through the bamboo, heath and moor land, arriving at the Piswa Camp at 2850 meters.
Day 5: Hike to Hunters Cave Camp
Hike up to the rim of the caldera through beautiful columns of the most rare and endemic plant species like the giant Lobelia Elgonensis. Enjoy the wild Everlasting flowers. Visit the hot springs and Suam Gorge before descending to the Hunters Cave Camp at 3850 meters.
Day 6: Ascend to Wagagai peak and Descend to Mude Cave Camp
After breakfast ascend to the top of the caldera to the Wagagai Peak at 4321 meters. Descend thereafter through the Jackson summit (4200 meter) and the Jackson pool to arrive at Mude Cave Camp at 3500 meters.
Day 7: Exit Mt Elgon and transfer to Kampala
Early morning, descend through the Sasa trail to Budadiri and then travel back to Mbale town. After having lunch in Mbale, we will continue to Kampala where you can relax and reflect your climb of the second highest summit in Uganda.
Day 8: End of Mt Elgon Hiking tour – Departure
