9 Days Northern Uganda Cultural Circuit

This 9-day safari offers you an abundance of wildlife, scenery, and cultural experiences. You have amazing opportunities of seeing Rhinos, lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopard, elephants, and several species of birds and an abundance of dense green forest. Enjoy the thundering Murchison Falls in the north of Uganda. This journey will bring you close to nature and culture of the Acholi people.

 Day 1: Arrival

Our friendly guide will welcome you to Uganda at Entebbe airport and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala.

Day 2:  Rhino Tracking

Have an early breakfast and depart for Gulu. The journey is a magical adventure with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to track Rhinos after which you will have lunch.

Day 3, 4 & 5:  Gulu

Gulu is the cultural and business center in northern Uganda. After suffering war for over 2 decades, it is back on its feet ready to share its beautiful landscape and culture with the visitors.

Stay in an Acholi village with a local familyand see the day-to-day activities of a typical northern Ugandan village. Taste the authentic daily life and have a complete cultural immersion with traditional dance and food. The proceeds from your trip are directly benefiting the local population.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison

We have an early breakfast and start the journey to Murchison falls National Park – the home of the most powerful waterfalls. We will have a lunch stopover in Gulu arriving Murchison Falls later that day.

Day 7& 8: Blend with the Remote Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National park is the biggest in Uganda and offers fulfilling game viewing. After an early break-fast we start the day with a game drive on the northern bank of River Nile, where we look out for giraffes, elephants, hartebeest, Buffaloes, Leopards, Lions and different bird species. Indeed, it is a privilege watching wild animals in their habitat as they eat, play, and protect the young. In the after-noon, the safari will continue on River Nile.

The relaxed boat safari provides more opportunities for spotting a variety of animals and birds. Enjoy the falls from below also known as the ‘devils cauldron’. This kind of boat cruise only found in Uganda in the whole of Africa.

The next day we start early to look for Chimps in Kaniyo Pabidi in Budongo forest. Chimp tracking takes anything from 2  hours to 6 hours depending on where they nested the previous night.

Day 9: Transfer to Kampala

We drive to the top of Murchison falls where 1 km wide Nile forced into a 7-meter gap to a thunderous roar – known as the most powerful falls. There is a resident beautiful rainbow formed making a contrast with the crashing water. After the experience, proceed to Kampala.
